The Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), established in 1893, was the first hotel school in the world. Today, it trains and develops the next generation of leaders and managers for the international hospitality industry. Its diverse student body comprises 2800 students from more than 119 different nationalities. EHL is the first hospitality management school worldwide with double accreditation at a university level. Firstly, it is officially recognized by the Swiss authorities as part of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO). It is also accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, in the United States. EHL’s programs lead selected students to a wide range of management careers in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry as well as in related fields that utilize hospitality expertise, such as banking, auditing, real estate, asset and financial management, consulting, marketing, luxury products management, etc. EHL has so far educated more than 25’000 hospitality industry executives who now make up a prestigious network for every member of the EHL community in more than 123 countries.
