What an Inspiring Roundtable on Gen AI and its Impact on Financial Services!

On 10 September 2025, we were thrilled to host an insightful roundtable, organised by Swiss Cham's Science & Technology and Finance sub-committee, in collaboration with Finews Asia and sponsored by Six. The event brought together leading minds from FinTech and AI to discuss the transformative impact of Generative AI on the financial services industry.

Some key insights from their discussion and the questions from the audience:

• Our panelists explored how AI is enhancing customer service, automating operations, and driving product innovation in finance.
• While the rapid content generation capabilities of Generative AI offer significant potential, they noted that its application in finance is still in the early stages.
• The discussion highlighted how Gen AI excels at handling repetitive tasks, while human oversight remains essential for driving true innovation.
• Our experts also examined how Gen AI is helping bridge the gap between traditional banks and innovative technologies. Although banks are investing heavily in AI, they remain cautious when it comes to client-facing AI applications due to client data protection requirements.
• The speakers addressed challenges ahead, including time, resources, and investment, as well as the need for proof of value.
• They also emphasized the importance of addressing liability concerns and implementing protective measures.
